Butterfly Pea Tea Infused Pie Crust

Your pies are sure to amaze this fall with our brand-new recipe!

With the stirrings of fall-time favorites in our sites, we couldn't resist a little fall-time fun! This week we're showing you a fun and simple way to turn any regular pie into a spooktacular dessert!

Jasmine Butterfly

This recipe features our very own Jasmine Butterfly green tea blend. This brew delivers fresh, flowery jasmine notes and is naturally a vibrant blue. You may also add in a few drops of lemon for an exciting metamorphosis!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of pre-brewed Jasmine Butterfly tea, chilled. (BREWING GUIDE: Steep 1 tsp. of tea blend in 8 oz of hot water for 1 to 2 minutes, or until desired strength.)

  • 1/2 cup of Cold Butter

  • 1 1/4 cups of Flour

  • 1/4 tsp of Salt

  • 1/2 tsp of Sugar

Directions:

  1. Using a cheese grater, grate the cold, solid butter over a bowl. Return grated butter to the refrigerator.

  2. Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.

  3. Using your hands, add in the grated butter gradually until the mixture resembles large crumbs.

  4. Add in chilled tea 1 tablespoon at a time. Still working the mixture with your hands until it starts to take on a doughy texture.

  5. Once your dough is fully formed, roll it into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap, and let it set in the fridge. (Ideally, you'll leave it in the fridge overnight. However, you're free to start forming your crust after two hours in the refrigerator.

*Once your dough has had time to set up in the fridge, you're good to go! Roll it out for a pie or dainty pastry as you see fit.
